Green Lantern: First Flight Gets Footings At Six Flags Magic Mountain

By on 02/23/2011

Heavy rains moved through Southern California during the end of last week and into the weekend, but that didn’t stop Six Flags Magic Mountain from continuing to move forward on the installation of the Green Lantern: First Flight roller coaster. As you can see from the following photos, everything got pretty wet but they were still able to make progress.

All of the rebar that was stacked up around the perimeter last week is now in the ground and Six Flags was able to get the holes covered up before the rains hit. By Monday, the covers had been removed and it looked like they were getting ready to pour the concrete. I suspect that when I go back over to the park next weekend, the concrete pour will have been completed and it will be curing. It shouldn’t be long before we start seeing the superstructure start to go up, which will really get people excited.
