DC Universe Update #7 At Six Flags Magic Mountain

By on 06/26/2011

This will probably be my last update on DC Universe at Six Flags Magic Mountain before the public unveiling of the entire area later this week. However, there are some new changes this week that I wanted to share with you. An aerial view from the Sky Tower shows that the DC Universe store sign has been completed. With how many light bulbs we saw behind that DC logo, I suspect that’s going to be one bright sign at night. It looks like they have some additional graphics laid out in front of the Watch Tower Pizza building, but I can’t quite make out what they are:

As you can see in this next photo, the entrance arch to the area has had more DC Comics characters added to it and is looking nearly complete, at least across the top. I just knew that Superman would get one of the larger spots:

Sorry about the quality of this next shot, but it’s the best I could get by leaning over the barricades they had erected. This is the backside of the arch. How many of these DC characters can you name?

More of the backside of the arch, with one spot left to fill:

Here is the finished front of The Flash: Speed Force. We saw them adding these additional lightning bolts last week:

Here we see Flash’s lightning bolts wrap all the way around the side of the building:

It looks like they put up some informational signs/graphics about Wonder Woman inside the queue area on Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth. This was the only one I could get a clear shot of:

Here is that Metropolis sign that I mentioned last week, but couldn’t get a clean picture of. It’s just to the right of the DC Universe store:

This is a new awning that has been placed on the building facade as you’re walking into the area. I did a quick Google search for a meaning in the DC Universe, but it was inconclusive. Is this a reference to Ace of Clubs, a member of the Royal Flush Gang that the Joker formed?

I previously mentioned the subtle reference to Clark Kent’s apartment address, 344, that was placed atop the building facade. This pretty much removes the subtleness of the reference:

My next report on the area will likely be Thursday afternoon, after returning from the media event. Please be sure to check back for the latest photos, videos, and impressions of the entire area.
