Six Flags 2011 Newsletter Survey

Late last year, I signed up for the Six Flags newsletter called In The Loop. It promised to bring me the latest news and headlines from my local park, articles on upcoming rides and attractions, an overview of the latest shows, and special offers. Looking back now, I don’t really remember getting much other than solicitations. I got an email in March inviting me to the technical previews for Superman: Escape from Krypton and an email in May announcing the debut of Road Runner Express, however only the latter email was labeled as being an In The Loop communication. Did I just forget about them or were there not really that many sent out?

A couple of days ago I received an email from Six Flags asking me to please participate in a survey they were conducting about their In The Loop newsletter. They are thinking about “radically redesigning the email” and were soliciting input. I took the time to provide my honest feedback, but I also captured a copy of the survey in case you didn’t get a chance to see it and were interested. Here are each of the pages of the web-based survey as it was presented to me:

Did any of you get this survey? Was it the same as what I got? Nothing too exciting here, but I am encouraged that they are taking a fresh look at the newsletter. I hope this means that we can expect even more communications from them in 2012.

I think I signed up for something similar – maybe mine was for the survey panel newsletters? I have taken at least 2 surveys this year but I don’t recall receiving actual “news” announcements. It would be nice if they offered some sort of reward for the survey – like a discount admission or free Flash Passes.

Apocalypse for Texas…I know it isn’t now but maybe it was originally…

I signed up for In The Loop and got basically nothing. Late in the summer, I did get a survey about ride names, but that was about it. To be honest, the parks aren’t going to give us “insider” information, being that we’re not industry representatives. We are the dreaded “general public.”
