Can’t wait! But we should expect delays… 🙁

i agree it could be like the lex luthor delay

    06/12/2013 at 4:46 pm

WOW! I thought our was gonna open line in July or August, but June 22? That’s next week! Two days before my birthday, I was going there anyways, but now I get to ride it on my birthday! Awesome!

I’m guessing that’s not including full throttle nights.

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 2:22 pm

Nope…everything will open at the same time, including Full Throttle Nights.

      Thanks for the link!

However, the moving clips and music at the beginning of the video is unbearable!

Putting my bets on June 29th.

  6. Agustin

    06/12/2013 at 5:19 pm

They’ll most likely end up pushing the opening date back like always.

  7. Justin

    06/12/2013 at 6:07 pm

I just watched a testing video, and there was no backwards launch. Will there be a backwards launch or did they decide to take that out? Without that launch the ride doesn’t seem as exciting to me.

    • Arkhamar

      06/12/2013 at 8:59 pm

Yes, the backward launch can be seen on the video above posted by Kieran. The second launch back out of the tunnel can be seen at 1:11.

    • Justin

      06/13/2013 at 12:00 am

I have found a clone of me, now I need to add something to my name to make it original.

cant wait hope i get a good spot in line.

  9. XYZ

    06/12/2013 at 7:03 pm

Well, I’m driving to the Bay Area that day, so conveniently, I’ll be driving past Magic Mountain. I’ll probably stop by for an hour to ride in the morning.

    • Jeff Wesson

      06/14/2013 at 8:45 am

The line will probably be about 4 hours long.

      • The Coaster Guy

        06/14/2013 at 2:22 pm

        “Probably”? 😉

  10. Eric

    06/12/2013 at 7:47 pm

I will be riding on media day, June 21. They want us there at 4am, so it’s going to be…interesting.

    • Ezra

      06/12/2013 at 8:09 pm

      4am? Really

      • Looper

        06/12/2013 at 10:34 pm

Makes no sense that people would be needed for media day on the 21st as there will still be a “Grad Night” going on inside the park until 6am?

        • Roger

          06/13/2013 at 8:37 pm

0400! Nothing like a coaster ride to wake you up!

        • The Coaster Guy

          06/14/2013 at 2:24 pm

Actually, Looper, the Full Throttle area will still be barricaded off at that time, so the two event can occur simultaneously without conflict.

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 2:24 pm

      I’ll see you there, Eric!

      • Roger

        06/14/2013 at 8:48 pm

        See ya there, too!

  11. Mike

    06/12/2013 at 7:50 pm

Its not about quantity, its about quality. and that is something six flags magic mountain needs to understand. Talk about an overrated park.

    • James

      06/12/2013 at 8:03 pm

Then why are you on here?

      • Mike

        06/13/2013 at 9:39 am

because sfmm needs to know that and this is a sfmm site

        • James

          06/13/2013 at 4:00 pm

But it’s not an official website. This is a fan made blog.
You should troll on their official website.

BTW what park would you say is not “overrated”?

Everyone is welcome here and entitled to their own opinion, as long as they are respectful. Mike is not being disrespectful at all and I understand exactly what he is saying.

      • Mike

        06/15/2013 at 11:47 am

I’m not saying i dont like sfmm but i am just saying people treat it like like everything there is perfection. Also, six flags is to focused on sfmm and not the other parks. Is anyone else tired of seeing sfmm in your home six flags commercials?

      06/12/2013 at 9:52 pm

So you’re telling me that now when I show up in my blue body paint, everyone is going to think I’m there for the Smurf’s event? Well that’s just great!!

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/12/2013 at 9:53 pm

So, Looper…I’m guessing you’re a big fan of looping coasters. I expect to see you in the front row on opening day with your hands high in the sky!

      • Looper

        06/12/2013 at 10:31 pm

Ive done crazier things .. However I think i will be sitting upstairs at Mooseburger watching the event out the window. Or head to my fav ride Sky Tower and watch from there in the A/C. I now live part of my life watching others toss their cookies.

  13. Goobs

    06/12/2013 at 10:03 pm

So who thinks that Full Throttle will actually open in 10 days?

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/12/2013 at 10:21 pm

I do. All of the formal invitations went out today, they have all the news outlets scheduled to be there, and they have a satellite truck coming in. I’m pretty confident that they wouldn’t have gone to these lengths if there was the slightest chance they couldn’t make it.

  14. Brenden

    06/12/2013 at 11:03 pm

About how early must I arrive for a good spot in line. Keep in mind I am 13 and have restrictions, but I can do pretty early. Just about ow early you were for Green Lantern seems fair.

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 2:30 pm

Other people can chime in here, but I would think you’d want to be at the main gate at least an hour before opening, if not earlier, to be anywhere near the front of the line.

  15. Logan

    06/12/2013 at 11:21 pm

I was just at the park today. Testing looked awesome! I saw some lights being tested (I am guessing “Full Throttle Nights”) at night once they resumed testing of full throttle again at around 8:30 PM. I went home and checked here to find out it is opening on the 22nd. I have a gold pass, and assume that I will be let 10 minutes early like usual, but I’m sure it is still going to be incredibly crowded. This is going to be my first time going to an opening day event, and was wondering what time I should be arriving at the park. Thanks!

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 2:31 pm

See my previous response to Brenden.

  16. josh

    06/13/2013 at 11:42 am

Actually. No its not a “SFMM site”

    06/13/2013 at 12:32 pm

hey kurt do you know where i can sign up for riders on media day money is tight and that might be my only chance to ride it

    • Eric

      06/13/2013 at 8:57 pm

I will be there early on June 21 because the park normally uses ACE members to fill seats while members of the media ride for the various newscasts and national newsfeeds.

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 2:35 pm

Media Day is by invitation only, intended for broadcast media, newspapers, theme park bloggers, or basically any journalist who would normally cover this type of story. If you fall into this category, contact the park and inquire about being added to their media contact list.

      • hey kurt i decided to start my own blog yesterday but need a good story to get it off the ground i think media day would be a good place to start does the park welcome newcomers as far as bloggers go or do i have to build up more

        • The Coaster Guy

          06/18/2013 at 4:33 pm

I think you probably need to establish yourself as a blogger first. Do you have much content posted? I’ve only seen your Facebook page. What’s the URL to your blog so I can take a look at it?

  18. josh

    06/13/2013 at 1:42 pm

How do you get in on media day? 4am seems early and I really want to go. As a coaster enthusiast, and not press, how would I go about getting in? Or is this just a “press only” day and I wont be able to get in.

    • Eric

      06/13/2013 at 8:57 pm

      Join ACE. 😉

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 2:38 pm

If you’re coaster enthusiast, you should join ACE. As Eric said, SFMM likes to use ACE members to fill seats on new rides as early morning broadcast journalists do live reports. There’s still not a guarantee that you’d get a seat through ACE, but at least you’d have a chance.

  19. James Z (not the other James)

    06/13/2013 at 1:56 pm

I’m commenting just to let you all know I’m going to media day and you aren’t.

    • matthew romine aka coasteroverdose2012

      06/13/2013 at 6:10 pm

      how did you sign up

      • Eric

        06/13/2013 at 9:01 pm

You don’t/can’t “sign up” for media day. It is by invitation only. Usually they invite local ACE members to fill seats while the media rides. For more information about ACE, go to their website. Everything should be explained there.

        • Max

          06/13/2013 at 11:03 pm

          Hey eric..
I just signed up for ace..
where do I go for the full throttle event?

          • Phil

            06/15/2013 at 4:15 am

They send you emails to media day and random stuff once you’re already a member. It’s an invite thing, not a “sign up” thing. Sorry to say but even if you signed up for Ace weeks ago, you probably still wouldn’t get into the media event…

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 2:39 pm

Not true! I’ll see you there. 😉

  20. Adam

    06/13/2013 at 1:58 pm

It looks like they’re starting to send out emails inviting pass holders to do a midnight ride on the 21st at midnight (so I guess technically the 22nd). It’s $50 and you get to ride Full Throttle at midnight (I’d be willing to bet they’ll have at least one other ride open as a surprise) a tshirt and food from the new restaurant.

    • Eric

      06/13/2013 at 9:59 pm

They’re also having ERT for passholders each day from 8am till 10am from June 24-June 28. It said that in their latest online newsletter.

      • The Coaster Guy

        06/14/2013 at 9:37 pm

Correction, Eric. The daily ERT is from 9:30-10:30 am. Only the Gold Pass ERT on Saturday was from 8-10:00 am.

  21. Bob winek

    06/13/2013 at 2:34 pm

How do u buy the midnight rider tickets. I can’t seem to find them online on the site.

  22. Adam

    06/13/2013 at 2:41 pm

The email says its on sixflags site and I also cant find the tickets :-(. I’m guessing it’ll be up later today, but I’m going to call the park now and see if it’s somewhere deep in the site.

  23. James Z (not the other James)

    06/13/2013 at 3:13 pm

I do not see a link in the email or on the site for the $50 midnight event. They may not have it up yet.

In the same email, it says Gold Passholders can sign up to get ERT starting @ 8am on the 22nd, so I signed up to try to get in for that. Don’t have to spend $50 and it will only be hours after the midnight event and media event.

Hopefully will get my 4-5 rides in then that will be enough for me. After the discussion of capacity on this ride, there’s no way I’m gonna wanna wait in the line for this ride unless its 30 mins or less!

    • James Z (not the other James)

      06/13/2013 at 3:28 pm

Just an update, almost immediately got my event pass in my email. So anyone who has a Gold Pass but doesn’t wanna spend the $50 for the midnight event but wants to beat the GP I would definitely recommend signing up! Looks like they got a lot of spots open!

      • Magic Alumni

        06/13/2013 at 5:19 pm

Does anyone have the link to the sign up page? I have yet to get the e-mail.

        • The Coaster Guy

          06/14/2013 at 2:40 pm

Too late. All the Gold Pass spots are now gone for June 22nd.

  24. Bob winek

    06/13/2013 at 3:21 pm

Yeah I agree with you Adam I don’t think the tickets are posted

  25. Adam

    06/13/2013 at 3:56 pm

So I just called the park asking about the $50 midnight telling them I couldnt find it on the site anywhere. The awesome response “you’re the second caller we dont have any information on that.” Seriously?!

  26. Adam

    06/13/2013 at 5:40 pm

I figured out the $50 tickets. You click buy advanced tickets under daily tickets and its in there :-). It’d be nice if they just added it on the main page or at least told people where it was.

    • Brenden

      06/13/2013 at 10:14 pm

Then what? We just go home? The park should stay opened a little later. I’m conflicted to buy it for that reason

  27. Andrew

    06/13/2013 at 7:04 pm

Sadly I can’t make it to any of the ERT. They should’ve done some for Sunday the 22nd. As that’s the only day I can make it to the park early. So i guess I’ll rough it out in the gold pass entrance at regular time.

    • Eric

      06/13/2013 at 10:00 pm

As I said to Adam further up the page: They’re also having ERT for passholders each day from 8am till 10am from June 24-June 28. It said that in their latest online newsletter.

      • Andrew

        06/14/2013 at 7:36 am

Yes, I can’t make it to ANY of those times. I can only make it to the park after 12:30 PM all of those days. If it had been a week earlier or a week later that would’ve been a totally different story.

        • Andrew

          06/14/2013 at 7:37 am

And I meant Sunday the 23rd. Because I could be at the park at 9:30 that day. But not any of the other days that they do have it.

      • Justin

        06/17/2013 at 12:32 am

Is it only Gold pass holders or for all the passes?

  28. chilton schillling

    06/13/2013 at 7:54 pm

Leaving Fresno friday camping out as close as I can. Anyone know if ticket prices will be the same?

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 2:41 pm

I don’t believe they hiked the park ticket prices due to Full Throttle, if that’s what you’re asking.

  29. Patrick

    06/13/2013 at 9:52 pm

If you have a family member who doesn’t have a gold season pass but you do, can you both get In early?

    • Andrew

      06/14/2013 at 7:38 am

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 2:44 pm

No, and please don’t try. They won’t let you in and all you’ll do is anger everyone else backed up behind you in line that do have a Gold Pass and are trying to get into the park early.

  30. Dane. P

    06/13/2013 at 10:19 pm

  31. Ralph B.

    06/14/2013 at 12:28 am

Eric, they are having ERT for passholders from the 24th to the 28th but it’s from 9:30 to 10:30. The one from 8 to 10 will only be for the Gold Pass holders which will be on the 22nd. I know because I also received the email earlier 2day and I’m attending the Gold Pass one. Just thought I’d let others know so they won’t confuse the times. 🙂

  32. Johnathan

    06/14/2013 at 4:50 am

Gold pass members check your email to sign up for early entry on June 22 from 8 to 10am! Also tickets are availiable for a June 21st midnight preview for 50 dollars that includes dinner and a full throttle t-shirt!

  33. Johnathan

    06/14/2013 at 8:47 am

Those times are am not pm

  34. Bob winek

    06/14/2013 at 12:43 pm

Can u buy tickets for the midnight thing for peoele without season passes

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 2:44 pm

Yes, they are open to everyone.

  35. miklo de la noche

  36. Bob winek

    06/14/2013 at 3:55 pm

Is full throttle going to be the only ride open for the midnight experience

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 4:23 pm

Yes, Full Throttle only from midnight to 2:00 am. With such exclusive access, why would you even consider riding anything else?

  37. Bob winek

    06/14/2013 at 3:57 pm

And is unlimited rides on FT till 2 no limit

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/14/2013 at 4:24 pm

The only limitation will likely be how many people are there and how fast you can get through the line each time. I have no idea how many of these tickets they are going to sell. I’m considering getting one just to cover the event.

  38. Bob winek

    06/14/2013 at 6:04 pm

    Thank u

  39. Junior

    06/17/2013 at 11:30 pm

HEYY!!! Ahhhhhhh cant wait for Saturday!!!!!!!!! but I need ADVICE! what is the best time to show up at the park!? I was planning 8:30 0r 900 the latest? They open at 10, I reaallly don’t want to wait in line, the most ill wait is 30. if I get there at those times I listed up above, how much will be my wait time??

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/18/2013 at 4:42 pm

I’m sorry, Junior, but I really have absolutely no idea what the crowds are going to be like or how long you are going to end up waiting. It’s one giant crapshoot and we’re all in it together.
