Me too, I just can’t seem to find any photos of the construction…at least not ones that I can get rights to use.

Hey I work at six flags I got news for u. Colussus is going down at the end of this summer and scream will be going down too!!!! The tracks are going to get redone and the theme too

      06/29/2013 at 9:43 am

Any idea what the new theme will be?

They really should theme it to Colossus County Fair because I see no theme to Scream whatsoever.

I don’t see that happening. It’s so far removed from Center Ring Games that it really doesn’t fit anymore. I can see them extending DC Universe, filling the gap between the existing DCU and Lex Luthor. They could also go with a new theme, but two rides don’t make for much of a newly themed area. Then again, the Full Throttle area only has one ride!

They could change Scream into Bizarro, like they did at SFGAdventure…. Bizarro would be then incorporated into DC Universe.

But where would that leave Colossus?

too bad colossus is a marvel character…

How reliable is the source you heard this from?

      • Casey

        06/29/2013 at 9:26 pm

I believe Andrew has said he works at the park,so I think it’s a pretty reliable source. Unless i’m mistaken that is… 🙂

I think what’s making people question his source, Casey, is that the park does not share this type of information with the average employee. Typically only management would know what the plans are and they keep it locked up tight.

I’m a different Andrew… They might know. Especially if they are on the colossus crew. It might be like log jammer where they had signs in the break room saying it was closing.
This also might explain why they are not running 2 trains on scream, since it is not worth the refurb if it is closing this year.

I hope that doesn’t happen and I doubt it, as they just added the full throttle area.

I visited the park yesterday and they finally had canopies over the rail leading to and over the station, which was a plus in yesterday’s 100°+ weather.

In the break room we have the upcoming events they have said they will decease operations for colossus at the end of summer. And scream to getting a track do over. They are going yo expand the park also and take over the over flow parking lot into a new park section but that’s not going to happen soon. But 100% colossus will be torn down this summer and getting a track make over and scream its not clear but it’s not looking good for scream because it has literally no theme.

Yeah, I work there too and there was a flyer in the dipping dots stand and it said that next year they are building a Giga dark ride aquatrax.

Isn’t that the one that’s going to be a six launch coaster that goes through the Revolution, Viper, Riddler’s, Batman, and Full Throttle loops?

          06/29/2013 at 10:05 pm

          I know right?

Andy, where do you work? I’d love to meet you the next time I’m at the park.

my uncle told me a year ago that they where doing the colossus and scream revamp, they are expanding the park as well. lookup six flags on google maps or earth and look how much of parking lot isnt used plus there is a huge concrete section that isnt even a parking lot that is atleast the size of the dc universe or bigger.

      06/30/2013 at 9:43 pm

How exactly can you look at a static image of a parking lot on Google Maps and tell how much of it gets used? I’m sure the parking lot crew would disagree with you that there are parts of the parking lot that don’t get used. I’ve seen it where every lot is full and they were parking cars in the dirt across Feedmill Rd by the river.

Andy or Andrew (he uses both apparently) is probably full of crap. As Kurt said very few employees are prevy to that information. Heck, I doubt that even 1/2 know there schedule for next week let alone what expansions or future construction may be! I didn’t think it would happen on this site but I think we finally have our first troll. 🙁

No inversions on colossus. Who’s with me here? Anyone?

    • Casey

      06/30/2013 at 11:12 am

I’m with you on that one.We need to keep it a family ride, since they are lacking them at the Mountain.

      • James

        06/30/2013 at 7:00 pm

There is more than enough family rides at SFMM. If you want MORE family rides, try Knotts and be bored for the day and leave the only thrill seekers park to the est of us!
Keep building coasters bigger and faster!

      06/30/2013 at 9:47 pm

I haven’t been on either Iron Rattler or Outlaw Run yet, but I’ve heard they are both amazing. However, I have been on New Texas Giant and it was freaking awesome, even without any inversions! I’m not necessarily against inversions, as long as they make sense, but you definitely don’t need them in order to have a killer ride. I just don’t want them added out of place just for the sake of having more inversions on a wooden coaster than any other park.

move scream to the full throttle area . Seems appropriate.

you know what would be sick! if they enclosed scream and them put like stars and planets like space mountain! that would be awesome. and its floorless so that would make it even better. like flying through space!

    • James

      06/30/2013 at 1:59 pm

At least they wouldn’t have to paint the track!

    • The Coaster Guy

      06/30/2013 at 9:49 pm

The entire point of a floorless coaster is so that you can see the track directly below your feet, enhancing the experience. Putting it in a dark building negates the benefit of it being a floorless coaster.

Whoa how many Andrews are on this site? By the way I’m a different Andrew, not the trolling one.

So what’s this I hear of a dark ride? Could I hear more details on this?
