July 4th Fest Fireworks At Six Flags Magic Mountain

By on 07/08/2014

When we first moved to the Santa Clarita Valley a few years ago, someone we knew who used to live here was telling us how great the July 4th fireworks were at Six Flags Magic Mountain. They even went as far as telling us where to park across the freeway and when to get there for the best view. Unfortunately, the park never put on one fireworks display since we moved here…until now.

As part of their July 4th Fest 2014 weekend celebration, they put on not just one fireworks display, but three! Each night at closing, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, they put on a great fireworks display. Not only was it an impressive display, but they were also shot off right over Tatsu! What’s better than fireworks and roller coasters?  The nightly display was best seen from the main Six Flags Plaza.

I was at the park on Saturday night to watch the Scotty McCreery concert and I stayed until closing to watch the fireworks. I was so impressed that I returned on Sunday night with my son to watch them again. The pictures from my small point & shoot camera don’t do them justice, but the video isn’t that bad:

I remember when Magic Mountain had it show lake. It was located where part of the water park lies. You used to enter where Flashback was located, not sure whats there now? They used to have fire works all the time along with stationary fireworks on the lake (US Flag, etc). I also remember water skiers being pulled around the lake.

I haven’t ran across any pictures of the lake on the web. I’m pretty sure Eric on here would have some info.
