Thrill Capital of the World Captures Coveted Fan Votes for #1 Theme Park Second Time in Four Years

After four weeks of spirited voting, USA TODAY announced that Six Flags Magic Mountain, the undisputed “Thrill Capital of the World,” is the winner of the Best Theme Park contest.

Noted for its renowned collection of world-class thrills, the Valencia, Calif. theme park boasts 19 roller coasters, more than any other theme park on the planet, including world-record-holders, Full Throttle, Tatsu, X2 and Goliath. Twisted Colossus, which debuted in 2015 as the world’s longest hybrid coaster, was chosen second of the Top 10 Best Roller Coasters in the country.

“This is such a tremendous honor from our fans who continue to support our efforts of providing innovative and thrilling ride experiences each and every year. Our fans have spoken and to be voted the number one theme park speaks to our core message of delivering exceptional guest service and world class rides and attractions. Everyone at Six Flags Magic Mountain thanks you for your votes!” – Neal Thurman, Park President

Two of Magic Mountain’s sister parks, Six Flags Great Adventure (located in Jackson, New Jersey) and Six Flags Fiesta Texas (located in San Antonio), ranked third and fifth respectively as America’s best theme parks.

Nominees for all categories are chosen by a panel which includes a combination of editors from USA TODAY, travel experts and theme park industry experts.
