All-American Food Festival at Six Flags Magic Mountain

By on 06/29/2018

To coincide with the Coca-Cola July 4th Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain this year, they’re upping their game and adding the All-American Food Festival. This is a special collection of food and drink that can be found all over the park during the five days of July 4th Fest. I was invited out for an early sampling of some of the offerings, and they were pretty tasty!

There will be five different locations around the park offering the special foods. The first is Metro Park Pub, whose menu will consist of the following:

  • Jalapeño Apple Baby Back Ribs
  • Sweet Pulled Pork Fries
  • Chicken Salad Wrap
  • Coca-Cola Star Spangled Brownie

I found the ribs to be meaty, with just a slight hint of jalapeño kick:

Over at Katy’s Kettle, you’ll find the following:

  • Pepper Jack Mac & Cheese
  • Brisket Slider
  • Spicy Maple Tri-Tip
  • Chocolate Covered Bacon

The mac and Cheese was really good. It was served on top of tater tots. I found it to be a bit more spicy than the ribs, but I also have an exceptionally sensitive palate. If you enjoy really spicy foods, you might not find it that spicy:

The Spicy Maple Tri-Tip was probably my favorite of all the samplings. It was served over a bed of baked beans and super tender. It was definitely more sweet than spicy, but that’s right up my alley:

A special food location just for this event is the Paradise Picnic Pavilion. Located between the theme park and water park in Bugs Bunny World, that menu will consist of:

  • Angry Orchard Hard Cider Wings
  • Barq’s Root Beer Wings
  • Teriyaki Pineapple Slider
  • Curro Sundae

I’m not a hard cider drinker, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with the Angry Orchard wings. They were tasty and the people I was with said they definitely tasted like Angry Orchard Hard Cider:

I didn’t try the Teriyaki Pineapple Slider, but it was nice to see they had vegetarian options:

Twisted ‘Wiches is also getting in on the action with the following offerings:

  • Cornbread Chili Dog
  • Monte Cristo ‘Wich
  • Apple Grilled Cheese ‘Wich
  • Red, White, and Blue Junior Thrill Shake

I tried the shake and found it to be delicious, but it was super messy to consume:

There’s a brand new food location being used just for this event. Called the All-American Grill, it’s located next to the Cyclone 500, in the location previously occupied by the Mexican eatery called Los Cuates. They will be offering the following:

  • Cowboy Bites
  • Quesadilla Dogs
  • BCR Grilled Corn
  • Peanut Butter and Jelly Donuts
  • Coca-Cola Ice Cream Floats

There will also be two specialty beverages created for all ages:

  • Mountain Berry Lemonade
  • Blood Orange Fizzy

All food items will be $8.00 each (plus tax). However, you can buy All-American Food Festival Passports which give you samples of whatever you want at a discounted rate. You can buy an 8-sampler passport for $39.99, or a 12-sampler passport for $49.99.

To wash it all down, you can buy a July 4th Patriotic Cup that includes free refills on the day of purchase. It also gives you access to the exclusive Coca-Cola After Party, which happens every night after park closing. The limited time cup will sell for $10.99.

You can buy the Red, White, and Food Package, which gives you a 12-sampler passport and the drink cup for only $59.99:

Don’t forget that if you have a Six Flags membership, your park discount savings will apply to the purchase of these items.

The party starts on June 30th and runs through July 4th. I’ll see you there!!
