Premier Rides Sponsored IAAPA Event At Six Flags Magic Mountain

So this is something that I had completely forgotten about, but now it makes perfect sense. Back in February, I posted a link to a video that was taken during the 2012 IAAPA Leadership Conference that was hosted at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The video was posted in error and was immediately taken down. The park even contacted me and asked me to remove my link to it, which I did since the video was already gone.

One of the sponsors of that event was Premier Rides. I thought it was odd at first, since Magic Mountain didn’t appear to have any sort of relationship with Premier, but I wrote it off as Premier being more of a sponsor of the IAAPA events in general as opposed to anything to do with Magic Mountain. But now in hindsight, I’m wondering if there wasn’t more to it than that:

Jim Reid-Anderson was present that day. I can’t help but wonder if that might have been when the final deal was signed by all relevant parties for Full Throttle. Thoughts?

Kurt, go to this page and read about Jim Seay, who worked at SFMM before joining Premier back in the ’90s. I’m not 100% sure, but I think he was one of the people who was instrumental in getting the original Superman–The Escape going at the park.

Very interesting, Eric. I had no idea there was that relationship. Thanks for pointing it out.

Interesting find! It’s very possible that you’re right about them signing the deal for Full Throttle back then.
