Another former attraction at the park that I think is worthy of review is the Spin Out. The Spin Out I personally would have rated as the ride most likely to return your lunch (and for several people it did, too.). It may not look all that menacing by watching it, but the constant rotation at high speed can make even strong stomachs revolt. The ride was housed in a little innocent-looking little pavilion just past Jet Stream. Inside the pavilion was a hollowed out cylinder where riders would stand against the wall. The ride would spin at high speeds, and then the floor would drop down a couple of feet (though in its final years it was only a few inches.) and centrifugal force would leave the riders stuck on the wall.
This ride was very much like a Gravitron ride that is still found at many carnivals and fairs today, but there are no mats sliding up the walls, no disco lights or loud music, no frills whatsoever. Just pure, untamed mechanical spinning. This ride was removed in 2008 after several years of only sporadic operation. It was closed almost everytime I went to the park. This ride was also notorious for riders turning themselves upside down on the wall during the ride, though this was generally prohibited, and offending riders were usually banned from the ride for the rest of the day. This was in my opinion the funnest flat at the park and I was sad to see it go.

I only have a couple of exterior shots of the ride from when it was in operation. If you or anyone else has any old photos of this ride from when it was in operation, such as the queue or inside the ride, I’d love to borrow them to write-up a profile.

    • Alex says:

I was one of those banned riders! The ride ops never liked me after I rode Spinout. I also agree that it would be a nice profile.

why isnt the ride profile of thrill shot that you did a few months ago on the list

  4. Jamal Shama says:

Do you know when they took out Goliath Jr.? I have a little one that’s too little for the big rides and would’ve loved to ride it!

    • Kurt says:

It’s still there. It’s now called Magic Flyer and is located in the Whistlestop Park area of the park. Depending on how big they are, there is also Canyon Blaster in Bugs Bunny World. It’s a little bigger and you’d be able to ride that one with them. One step up from that is Road Runner Express, also in Bugs Bunny World.

  5. Byron Lopez says:

  7. Justin says:

I would love to see some spotlights on the kids rides/ kids areas.

  8. Candice says:

I wasn’t sure if you knew this or not, but the last time I went to Six Flags, they replaced Thrill Shot with another Thrill Shot…. I don’t know if it has the same name or anything, but I just remember seeing it and it looked all brand new. :)

    • The Coaster Guy says:

They opened a new ride not long ago called Slingshot. It’s a similar type of ride, but not exactly the same. Look for my ride profile on it.

  9. Ezra says:

Where is the Colossus profile? Are you waiting for the 35th Anniversary this year?
